Following in the footsteps of legendary “Lagoudera”, Omilos restaurant has become a reference point on the island since it opened in 2006 under the management of Kostas Acheilas and Lisa Bartsioka.
Located on the port of Hydra, above the sea rocks, Omilos serves delectable dishes of Contemporary Mediterranean Cuisine. Decorated in a white minimalistic interior and an elegant outdoor patio it offers a stunning view of the Saronic Gulf combined with soft music and the sound of the crashing waves below.
Head chef Dimitris Kantarakis was born in Chania, Crete. After graduating Le Monde Culinary School in Athens he travelled to Lucerne Switzerland for his Master’s in European Gourmet Cuisine.
He has had the opportunity of working at many award-winning restaurants in Greece and abroad along with great chefs. His culinary journey began in 2002 and, among others, has taken him from “1800” Restaurant in Santorini, to “Varoulko” Restaurant in Piraeus and to “Geranium” (3 Michelin Star) Restaurant in Copenhagen.
